On June 21 and 22, 2022, the time has come again: For the 5th time, the NSERC Network for Holistic Innovation in Additive Manufacturing invites you to the HI-AM Conference in Canada! The conference, which will be held in Montreal, QC, is all about metal additive manufacturing. Cohosted by McGill University and University of Waterloo, the focus of HI-AM 2022 is to provide a platform for the presentation of recent R&D advancements in the field of metal additive manufacturing under 4 research themes: (1) material development, (2) advanced process modeling, (3) process monitoring and control, (4) innovative AM processes/products.
We are delighted to be part of this year's conference hosting once again our own TraCLight Session. We are looking forward to organize the session together with Rosswag Engineering, the Institute of Production Engineering (wbk) of KIT, Pforzheim University of Applied Sciences, and the Canadian TraCLight partners of Laval University, McGill University and the Quebec Metallurgy Center as well as Phaseshift Technologies Inc. Among other things, the current project results of the project "HiPTSLAM" will be presented.
More information about the conference can be found under: Home - NSERC HI-AM Conference 2022 (nserc-hi-am.ca)
The project "HiPTSLAM" deals with the development of metal powders made of high-performance tool steel alloys for additive laser production. Currently, the available and processable metallic materials for selective laser melting are severely limited by the weldability. By developing new tool steel powders for additive manufacturing, design added value and functional optimizations can be introduced, for example through internal channel structures, in highly loaded tools.
