The German TraCLight members Plasmatreat, Deutsche Basalt Faser und KraussMaffei Technologies met their Canadian cooperation partners ABB Robotics, Laval International, Marwood Metal Fabrication and TechCon Automation for the first time in London, Ontario, Canada on April 12. The reserach partners Fraunhofer ICT Pfinztal as well as the Fraunhofer Project Center for Coposite Research @WesternUniversity also joined the meeting.
The transatlantic R&D project "CAR body" aims at the cost- and resource efficient production of FRP-metal structures using the wet compression molding process for volume production. Besides a first get-to-know, the cooperation partners prepared the project start for autumn 2018.
